Uganda Super League Committee releases Fixtures

Bainamani Bernard-USLCThe Uganda Super League Committee (USLC) has released the fixtures for the second round of the 2009/10 Uganda Super League.

 “There are so many activities and this will cause fixture congestion but the coaches, players and our fans should appreciate that we lost a bit of time at the beginning of the league that usually starts on the first weekend of August only started in the last week of October”. Said Mr. Bainamani Bernard of the USLC at the release of the fixtures

FUFA Introduces the BIG League

Kampala Super Mini League OfficialsThe FUFA long term Development Plan that was discussed under the guidance of FIFA in November 2008 at Mandela National Stadium included among others the introduction of a national league that feeds the Uganda Super League to replace the one week Super Mini Leagues that have been used before.

 

The intention was to create an acclimatizing competition for the clubs ascending to Uganda’s top most league where the administrative, structural, sporting, infrastructural and financial abilities will be rehearsed. It was further envisaged that one of the key FIFA principles of good competitions is where competing teams are of almost an equal strength. Throwing a team that has just been a first division team playing in a district league of a radius of 20km to a national league composed of clubs that have existed for over 30 years and some with institutional budgets of hundreds of millions does not set the competing ground fair

Express and FUFA get an Interim understanding

Considering the ongoing discussions involving Express Sports Club and FUFA top brass, both parties have agreed to forge a way forward that will lead to an amicable understanding for the good of the game

Uganda Cranes Awarded 40 Millions for CECAFA triumph

FUFA has awarded the players and the technical team of the 2009 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup Champions a whooping 40 million Uganda Shillings.

FUFA has established a new culture that when a team wins prize money, the gallant players are awarded part or all of that money for the good work done.
