FUFA Summit gets underway; All eyes on Football Development

Ugandan football will take bigger strides after today’s FUFA summit at Serene Suites in Mutundwe.

It is the first ever football summit to be held in the country with the main of developing the sport.

The Summit is part of the FUFA 5 year strategic plan that was passed by the Assembly in 2016 in Luweero.

FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo

We are here to plan for the future of the game. The participants are technocrats and experts in their respective fields. Let us embrace this summit for the better of Ugandan football.

We organized this summit to find solutions to the challenges. At the moment we are looking at football in the field. We have invited the technocrats like coaches for youths across the country and plan for the game.

We will form groups to discuss and come up with recommendations to be presented to the Executive and the General Assembly to generate new regulations and strategies.

This will affect our budgets but we are ready to take football to another level.

It is a very modern way and I believe that at the end of this Summit we will have gotten good ideas from the technical people.

I believe that the game of football is changing everywhere but we need to handle matters on the pitch as we also plan for other summits to come.

I am glad to be here and this is such a good day for FUFA and football at large.

It shows the ambitions and motivation of FUFA to develop the game in Uganda.

It is also very important to share the experience from different people because it is a good way to organize for the future of football in Uganda.

This move is good for the federation with targets and objectives because you need to come up with a strategy to develop objectives. Today is a start of a new dawn of football in Uganda.

I want to thank FUFA for organizing this summit. Government is committed to inject more funds in sports.

As you are well aware sports is dynamic and FUFA are moving in the right direction.

I am happy that the summit has involved Sports Scientists and the sport we have today can not only rely on natural talent but we need to apply science and particularly Sports Science if we are to progress.
