Eng. Moses Magogo:-Secretary FUFA Competitions CommitteeThe Calendar for FUFA Competitions has been passed by the FUFA Executive Committee and the competitions for the 2010/11 will be played as scheduled

This season, the registration dates for all players for all levels have been unified as 19th July 2010 to 23rd September 2010. This will give room to clubs to plan release and acquisition of players for the leagues. These dates have also been entered into the FIFA Transfer Matching System and this will affect clubs that need to acquire players from outside Uganda as the computerized system will only allow requests and transaction made during this period

Another innovation is to create a uniform season where leagues and cups will begin in August 2010 and end in May 2011 so that there is a gazette period for players to rest.

“We are aware that Ugandan Players never rest and this causes stunted growth and recurring injuries. We shall therefore require all organizers of competitions to respect the rest period for the players” said Eng. Moses Magogo the Secretary of the FUFA Competitions Committee

There has also been an introduction of the Licensing Period where clubs, institutions and individuals will acquire licenses to participate in competitions, to organize competitions, to practice in competitions and to provide any professional services to the industry of football

Magogo further confirmed that this is part of FUFA’s continued efforts to regulate football and harmonize football programmes to the optimal utilization of the competitions resources such as players, referees, time and playgrounds

Rule 1: Play to Win

Winning is the object of playing any game. Never set out to lose. If you do not play to win, you are cheating your opponents, deceiving those who are watching, and also fooling yourself. Never give up against stronger opponents but never relent against weaker ones. It is an insult to any opponent to play at less than full strength. Play to win, until the final whistle
