Uganda Premier League debutant side, Lweza Football Club caused one of the biggest upsets of the 2014/15 season, overcoming the defending champions, Kampala City Council (KCC) at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Friday.

Left back, Farouq Musisi scored his second goal of the campaign to subject Abdullah Mubiru’s boys to their 3rd loss of the season in 14 games played.

At Kavumba Recreational Stadium in Wakiso, Police F.C won the local derby over Soana F.C.

Prolific striker, Umar Kasumba picked a superb brace to get his 7th goal of the campaign, 2 behind top scorer, Robert Sentongo of URA.

Uganda Revenue Authority needed a late Frank Kalanda goal to give the tax collectors another home victory over Express F.C at the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.

At Kakindu Stadium in Jinja, Vipers Sports Club won it late 1-2 although the home fans were left uncontented with the result, many threatening to fight.

Uganda Cranes midfielder, Faruku Miya and Deus Bukenya scored for Vipers after on-form striker cum midfielder, Milton Kalisa had given the home  team some ray of hope earlier equalizing three minutes to time before Bukenya’s late winner.

16 time record league winners, Sports Club Villa held onto an early penalty from  midfielder, Steven Bengo to beat Bright Stars 1-0 at Mityana Ssaza grounds.

Villa now lies second on the table standings 5 points behind leaders, Vipers (35).

Simba and Kira played to a goal-less draw at Nelson Mandela Stadium, amboole Stadium whilst in the city center at Nakivubo Stadium, Entebbe F.C registered their second home victory of the campaign, winning 2-1 against Rwenshama F.C.

Farouq Kalinzi had given Rwenshama a 10 minute lead before Entebbe F.C’s Hussein Mubiru restored parity 4 minutes to the half time break.

Adam Ssemambo notched the winner for Entebbe F.C late in the second half to help his team energize the efforts against relegation.

The league resumes this Tuesday with the last fixtures of the first round before the highly anticipated christmas and new year break.

The second round kicks off on 12th January 2015.
