2015 FUFA Awards launched

FUFA Awards 2015:

26th November 2015

Serena  Hotel, Kampala

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has launched the 2015 football awards on Tuesday, 6th October 2015 at Achwa Hall, Serena Hotel in Kampala.

FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo presided over the event attended by the media and the representatives of the sponsors.

The Awards main sponsors, Airtel Uganda have injected Ug.shs 100M for the event whose date has been confirmed for 26th November 2015.

Crown Beverages Limited under the Pepsi flagship brand have offered Ug.shs 10M.

The other partners are NIC and Nile Special.
Eng. Moses Magogo used the plat form to appreciate the FUFA partners and highlight on the cause of the Awards.

“FUFA is recognizing talent and the efforts of the players, referees and coaches, who are key elements of the game” Eng. Magogo noted.

NIC marketing officer, Pamela Abonyo said the biggest asset for any organization is its people and therefore NIC as an insurance company is geared towards ensuring the players.

Bobkins Kibirige of Kibo Media, representing Nile Special remarked “We shall support the awards and the other activities of FUFA and the Uganda Cranes”

Pepsi’s Tracy Kakuru was full of joy.

‘We are in football for various reasons and we shall continue to support the sport at a bigger level’ said Kakuru.

Noela Byuma, Airtel Uganda Brands, Assets and Properties Manager said  ‘We are glad to associate with football right from the grass roots with the Airtel Rising Stars’

There will be a car and land title for each of the best male and female players of the year, Land titles for various winners.

‘Voting mechanics will be communicated in the near future’ Eng Moses Magogo.

The awards are catering the season 2014/2015.

 

Nominees:

Male player of the year 2014; Kezironi Kizito (Vipers and Uganda Cranes), Farouk Miya (Vipers, Uganda Cranes), Yasser Mugerwa (Orlando Pirates and Uganda Cranes)

Female player of the year: Winnie Babirye (Buikwe She Red Stars), Sandra Nabweteeme (Kawempe Muslim Secondary School) and Hasfa Nassuna (Kawempe Muslim Secondary School)
