2015 CECAFA KAGAME CUP:
Kampala City Council 1-0 Adama City
Team skipper Tom Matisko scored a 69th match winner from the penalty spot as Kampala City Council football club picked their first victory in the 2015 CECAFA Kagame Cup over Adama City F.C on Wednesday.
Matisko’s penalty followed a foul on Uganda’s U-23 striker, Derrick Nsibambi in the ‘forbidden area’ by defender, Yacob Fiseha with 11 minutes left on the clock at the Karume Stadium.
The victory brightens Uganda’s representatives’ chances of progressing to the last eight even after a poor opening when they lost to Tanzanian opposition, Azam F.C in the opener.
The other two matches played on Wednesday witnessed Khartoum overcome KMKM 2-1 before Tanzanian giants Yanga convinceingly triumphed 3-0 over Telecom.
The Thursday menu has two fixtures on card.
Heegan F.C takes on AlShandy in the opening game before Rwanda’s APR entertains LLB AF.C in the second and last fixture on the day.
KCC F.C play Malakia next on Saturday.
