The regular season of the national second division league (FUFA Big league) officially climaxed on Saturday, 14th May 2016 with a number of determinant fixtures.
Onduparaka from Arua Municipality and Kirinya-Jinja S.S football clubs became the first two clubs to gain promotion to the 2016/17 Azam Uganda Premier league.
Onduparaka have topped the Elgon group with 53 points after winning their last game of the season 3-0 against Sporting United at the Green Light stadium in Arua town.
Rashid Agau, Muhammed Shaban and Wahabu Gaddafi (penalty) were all on the score sheet in a well attended match broadcast live on 102.1 FUFA f.m.

Kirinya – Jinja S.S won their game 3-2 away to Wandegeya at Kanyanya play ground.
James Otim scored a brace for the Jinja club before Shafiq Mulangira had an individual brace.
Allan Drajuwa netted the winning goal that witnessed the side win the game played on a soggy play ground.
Proline conceded a late-late equalizer at Kasese New Villa in Buhinga play ground, Fort Portal.
Jinja S.S thus finished with 52 points and Proline 51.
Relegated clubs;
There are eight clubs relegated to the respective regional leagues are Kira Young, Bukedea Town Council, CRO and Lira United (Elgon Group).
The Rwenzori group relegated clubs are Masaka Local Council, Citizen, Kasese New Villa and Wandegeya.
