2016 CHAN: Ochaya to captain Cranes XI against Zambia, legendary Sekagya visits camp

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has named his starting XI to face Zambia in the Group D match of the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) due on Saturday at 6pm Local time (7pm in Uganda). The match will be broadcast live on 102.1 FUFA fm.

Ochaya who plays for KCCA FC will captain the Uganda Cranes in the absence of regular skipper Faruku Miya while Kigonya comes in goal for Ismail Watenga who picked up an injury against Mali on Tuesday. Stylish Muzamir Mutyaba is in the team while Ivan Ntege is back from suspension.

The Starting XI has; Kigonya Mathias (GK), Okot Denis, Ochaya Joseph (Captain), Muwanga Bernard, Richard Kassaga, Ivan Ntege, Timothy Awany, Kezironi Kizito, Mutyaba Muzamiru, Erisa Sekisambu, Robert Sentongo.

Subs: Alitho James (GK), Joseph Nsubuga, Isaac Muleme, Martin Kizza, Wasswa Hassan, Edrisa Lubega, Frank Kalanda, Kirya Ambrose, Geoffrey Serunkuma, Ceaser Okhuti

Meanwhile former Uganda Cranes captain Ibrahim Sekagya visited the Uganda Cranes team at its base in Rubavu-Belvedere Hotel.

He said ‘ I will be in the stands to support you. It is a match we need three points and i believe you are ready’ said the soft spoken Sekagya who also had a luncheon with the players.

His visit to camp was arranged by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA). He traveled from Kigali together with the FUFA President Eng.Moses Magogo and former Cranes media officer Fred Katende Malibu.
