Uganda’s ambassadors at the 2016 Mapinduzi peace cup in Zanzibar, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club are in bouyout moods ahead of their opening match against Tanzania’s JKU F.C on Monday.
The match will take place at the Amman stadium in Zanzibar, the same venue that will host all the matches of the tournament.
According to the team media officer, Edward Kulubya,the team players and officials are all in fine health having traveled and settled in well.
He told www.fufa.co.ug that;
We traveled safely from Kampala and we look set for the games. We had a training session at the synthetic turf of Amman Stadium. There are no injury concerns in the camp. We expect Derrick Tekkwo on Sunday evening who traveled by himself because we left him in Kampala as he was attending to domestic tasks
Some of the club players like Robert Sentongo, Frank Kalanda and Richard Kasagga Jjuuko remained in Kampala to train with the Uganda Cranes CHAN team which will play at the CHAN finals in Rwanda.
Other players who did not travel were Ali Feni, Patrick Ochan and goal keeper Cleo.
Uganda’s other club, KCCA F.C are the defending champions but did not travel for this year’s edition.
