Following a successful start of the Azam Uganda Premier League last Friday with eight match day fixtures, action continues once again on Tuesday with round two.
On Friday, there were eight goals scored in eight outings with just two victories registered.
The menu of Tuesday looks enticing more especially that clubs have had a feel of the action already.
Defending champions, KCCA makes the short trip to Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku for a date against Lweza.
KCCA’s prime target is to make it two out of two having defeated Jinja Municipal Council Hippos 2-1 on match day one.
Lweza on the other hand wants to make quick amends having fallen to the Red Eagles – Express 2-1 in the Wankulukuku derby.
The onus and goal scoring expectations for team KCCA will once against be on veteran center forward Geofrey Sserunkuma accompanied by youngsters Derrick Nsibambi and Paul Mucureezi.
Lweza looks forward to the goal scoring form of Karim Ndugwa, who managed to score the first goal of the new season.
Elsewhere, Vipers host Police at Nakivubo stadium. Both clubs drew in the last game.
Vipers recovered to score against Bright Stars as Police held 16 time record league winners, Sports Club Villa Jogoo at Kavumba stadium.
Striker Tonny Odur, fresh from Lebanon is expected to partner Musa Esenu for the much needed goals.
Meanwhile, Police will hope that veterans Peter Senyonjo and Anthony Bongole rediscover their potent weapons of old – running over the opposition and scoring.
In Jinja, the first set of derbies gets underway when Jinja Municipal Council Hippos entertains new entrants Kirinya-Jinja S.S.
The two clubs are handled by great friends – Alex Isabirye (at Kirinya-Jinja S.S) and James Odoch (JMC), both former Uganda Cranes internationals who understand each other well.
James Otim, new signing Ibrahim Kazindula and Mark Bamukyaaye are Kirinya-Jinja S.S’ sure cards.
JMC will look to the sharpness of striker Ajab Rajab Abdulrahaman, winger Viane Ssekajugo, a new signing and last season’s best defender Musa Walangalira for inspiration in the striking, midfield and defense departments respectively.
Uganda Revenue Authority hosts Bul at the Mehta stadium in Lugazi whilst Express under Alex Gitta as head coach travels to the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo to play Proline.
Gitta targets another win after defeating Lweza 2-1 in the opener.
“I want maximum points over Proline” Gitta, whose club is captained by Mike Mutyaba revealed his target ahead of the Tuesday affair.
In the live game on Azam T.V, Lato Milk and Fero Mobile sponsored Bright Stars host crowd pullers, Betway funded Onduparaka FC at the Champions stadium.
Bright Stars is coached by Fred Kajoba, Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach and Onduparaka is coached by Leo Adraa.
The Arua club has two Uganda U-20 stars Emmanuel Olinga (midfielder) and Muhammed Shaban (striker) whose presence always dictates the terms in the teams they play for.
Bright Stars looks forward to the oozing experience of Fred Segujja, Baker Lukooya and goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato for magic at home.
May the best clubs win.
