Bergen Nursery and Primary School has started their Odilo 2025 Championship with a huge result against Amuca Primary School this evening at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. Namanda Rinet launched the scoreboard in the 13th minute for the Buganda Region side before leaving room for the team captain Nabakooza Cathy to finish the job, netting four past the Northern Region representatives from Lira in their Group B opener.
Aterai Primary School’s Akwii Lydia equalized for her side cancelling Prime View Education Centre’s 6th-minute lead just two minutes after the restart. Nabifo Grace added a second to Kanyarisi Eleth’s earlier equaled goal in the 34th minute to make it 2-1. A scoreboard which stood until full time in the other Group B game.
Earlier, Bushenyi side, Ryamuhanga Primary School suffered their first loss in the hands of West Nile Champions, Oasis Primary School. A halftime brace from Jackline Happy Josephine and a second half goal from Monday Stella is all the Arua side needed to secure their first points and a clean sheet in their Group A opener. On a positive note, credit to Ryamuhaga’s Atuhaire Miracle Peace for keeping the team from conceding even more with her buildup from the back and creating several scoring opportunities.
In the other Group A fixture, Nyakasura Junior Primary School found a soft spot that they utilized effectively on Habanomu Quality Academy. Coming from two goals down, a Karungi Margret goal and a Kirungi Lydia brace were just enough to turn around earlier strikes from Mirembe Hope and Sabanu Hudda.
Matchday 2 of the group stage continues tomorrow.
