Uganda National Beach soccer team “The Sand Cranes” is optimistic of acquiring a historic win over Ivory Coast in the Beach Soccer AFCON 2019 qualifier 1st leg clash at Spena Beach, Entebbe on Sunday.

The head coach of Sand Cranes Salim Jamal Muwonge assured beach soccer fans that his team will play for a win against Ivory Coast because they have had enough time to prepare for the encounter.

Muwonge admitted that all the players in camp are focused and ready for the game.

‘We are only looking forward for positive results against Ivory Coast. The boys are focused and the time we have had to prepare is enough to yield positive results’ said Muwonge

The soft-spoken beach soccer tactician added by calling upon fans to turn up in big numbers  at Spena Beach and rally behind the team as they vie to make history of qualifying for the first ever AFCON Beach Soccer competition.

Team forward Ben Ocen said that the players are set to give their best because they are united and have been working closely together for a while.

‘We are working as a team and the time we have been together for both residential and non residential training have been utilised to bond us together thus a motivation for positive results’ said Ocen

The pacy forward also said the visit by the FUFA President to the camp was another motivation to the team.
