AFCON U17 Finals: Uganda vs Tanzania; It is a Decider match- says Kwesi

Group A: Tanzania, Angola, Nigeria, and Uganda

Group B: Guinea, Cameroon, Senegal, and Morocco 

The Uganda U1-7 National team is relishing to keep fighting till when they get points to remain at the ongoing Total CAF AFCON U-17 tournament in Dar es Salaam.. Despite falling short in their opener to Angola, the Cubs still have confidence ahead of their match with hosts Tanzania on Wednesday.

As quoted by both by the head coach Fabin Kwesi and team captain Garvin Mugweri Kizito, the youngsters believe they can make a comeback and win their game against CECAFA regional rivals – Tanzania at  National Stadium.

Before conducting the last training at GymKhana ground, a pre-match press conference was held at the National Stadium

While in the pre-match press conference head coach Kwesi noted that this game comes in as a decider.

‘Definitely if you lose, you are out of the contention so we are approaching it with all the energy it deserves and give it our best shot and wait for the final result. We have done our home work well. We want to get maximum points’ Kwesi noted

The team captain Kizito Garvin Mugweri believes they can comeback.

‘We went down in our opening fixture against Angola but we are not out of the competiton. We have another chance to make a comeback. We are playing a team we have ever played but we are not underrating it, all minds are focused onto getting a win out of it’ said Kizito

Uganda plays against Tanzania (Hosts) in the second fixture before taking on Nigeria in the final group A match

The top two teams in each of the two groups in the tournament will qualify automatically for the U17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
