AFCON U17 Qualifiers: Uganda learns new opponents after fresh draws

Uganda U17 National Team will face new opponents after fresh draws for the Africa Cup of Nations Zonal Qualifiers were held on Sunday.

The tournament that was supposed to start two days ago in Ethiopia failed to do so due to several challenges.

After the withdrawal of Rwanda and Eritrea, the organising committee were faced with yet another challenge of screening of players.

And when the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans were made, Sudan and Djibouti failed to pass the test.

In the new draws conducted on Saturday, Uganda is in group B alongside Burundi and South Sudan.

The other group (A) has hosts Ethiopia, Somalia and Tanzania.

Hamza Lutalo’s charges will begin their quest to qualify for the final tournament on Monday against Burundi.

It should be noted that the finalists at the Zonal Qualifiers get the tickets to the final tournament.
