AFCON U20 Zonal Qualifiers: Coach Mayanja appoint new Hippos captains

Uganda Hippos (U20) interim head coach Jackson Mayanja has appointed captains ahead of the AFCON Zonal Qualifiers that will take place in Sudan between 28th October to 11th November.

After day 8 morning session at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, the Uganda Cranes legend appointed attacking midfielder Isma Mugulusi as the team captain.

Mugulusi will be assisted by Wakiso Giants FC midfielder Titus Ssematimba, Ibrahim Juma and goalkeeper Abdu Magada respectively.

The development means, the now Greece based player takes over Gavin Kizito who led the team to the AFCON U20 Zonal Qualifiers previously in Tanzania before storming the final tournament in Mauritania.

Kizito has since graduated to the U23 (Kobs) as well as the senior Team, Uganda Cranes.

The Hippos are expected to fly out next Wednesday to Sudan in a bid to return to the AFCON U20 tournament next year.
