Faruku Miya  (DOB: 26th November 1997); Vipers SC, Uganda Kobs and Uganda Cranes

Captain of the Uganda U-23 team and plays for League champions Vipers SC.

Miya was named Most Valuable player of the 2014/2015 Azam Uganda Premier League season.

His massive contribution on the pitch with 5 assists also saw him score 11 goals (1 Penalty, 3goals from direct free kicks) in the League.

Miya who has played for one and half season in the top flight, made a scoring debut at the national team against Seychelles (1-0) at the Philip Omondi Stadium.  Faruku is a product of Airtel Rising Stars

Miya who has played a combined figure of 22 games for the U-23 and Cranes has already become pivotal figure in the Uganda Cranes set up.

He has scored 7 goals in total for the National teams including a memorable goal at Uyo stadium when Uganda Cranes humbled Nigeria 1-0 at home.

Miya also scored a classic goal against Rwanda in the Africa U-23 championship qualifier at Nakivubo.

He was the winning captain as Uganda won her 14th CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Ethiopia.

Miya’s goals in the National team for 2014/2015 season have come against;

-Tanzania (1) CHAN (Uganda won 3-0 in Zanzibar)

-Rwanda (1) U-23 Africa Championship- Olympic Games Qualifier (Uganda won 2-1) in Kigali

-Rwanda (1) U-23 Africa Championship- Olympic Games Qualifier (Uganda won 2-0) at Nakivubo

-Egypt (1) U-23 Africa Championship- Olympic Games Qualifier (Uganda lost 2-1) at Namboole

-Nigeria (1) International friendly (Uganda won 1-0)

-Ethiopia (1) International friendly (Uganda won 3-1) at Namboole,

-Sudan (1) CHAN (Uganda won 2-0) in Nakivubo

-Sudan (1) CHAN (Uganda won 2-0) in Khartoum

-Togo (1) 2018 FWC Russia (Ugandawon1-0) in Lome

-Togo (2) 2018 FWC Russia (Uganda won 3-0) at Namboole

-Zanzibar (2) CECAFA (Uganda won 4-0) in Ethiopia

-Malawi (1) CECAFA (Uganda won 2-0) in Ethiopia
