Airtel, Nile Special, NIC re-affirm Uganda Cranes support

Uganda Cranes lead sponsors Airtel Uganda, partners Nile Breweries Limited and National Insurance Corporation reaffirmed their ultimate commitment towards working with FUFA to see that the national football team prospers in the upcoming AFCON 2015 qualifiers.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) on Thursday officially launched the Uganda Cranes qualification campaign to the 2015 African cup of nations in Morocco dubbed ‘The road to Morocco 2015’.

Speaking at the special press briefing held at the Federation main offices in Mengo, the three official partners re-echoed the passion and zeal towards the game of football and standing with FUFA to see that the Cranes make it for the first time since the 1978 finals in Ghana.

Airtel Uganda, who recently launched the ‘together we can’ theme that will be used throughout the campaign, commended FUFA for the great efforts being laid prior the games.

Official insurance partners, NIC, too wished FUFA and Uganda Cranes fruitful deliberations towards the campaign that starts immediately.

‘NIC wishes the best to FUFA, Cranes and the entire football fraternity. Surely we shall be behind the campaign 100%”, said Pamela Abonyo, the Senior Corporate Communications Manager at NIC.

Early engagement is a bonus:

Nile Breweries Limited (NBL) applauded the federation for the early planning and engagement of all stake holders involved in the campaign.

‘Seeing FUFA engage us so early is a great initiative. At Nile Breweries Limited, we shall stick with Uganda Cranes and see a prosperous campaign’-Isaac Ssekasi, brand and sponsorship manager at NBL said.

The event was witnessed by the FUFA chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson, FUFA president Moses Magogo, Finance Director, Decolas Kizza, Cranes Head coach Milutin Sredojevich, Mujib Kasule (Vice President), several FUFA staff and the media.

CAF will conduct the draws in Egypt on 27th April 2014. Uganda is expected to play her first game between May 15th – 18th 2014 and it is not yet certain whether it will be home or away.
