Aterai Primary School emerged winners of the 2024 FUFA Primary Schools Championship Odilo for Girls. The representatives from the Eastern Region edged Oasis Primary School from Arua representing the West Nile Region with a 1-0 victory.
The decisive goal was scored by Irene Akurut in the second half.
Aterai Primary School Coach Charles Obore could not hide his delight after the final whistle. While speaking to www fufa.co.ug, Obore said that this time was meant for him and his school because they lost at the final during the last edition.
‘Surely we deserved this because we’ve worked for it. We have changed alot since last year and my players have exhibited the best discipline on ans off the pitch’
Said Obore before adding,
‘We are so appreciative for FUFA for organising this competition which expose our players and we have learnt a lot from others and we are only looking forward to implementing what we have learnt.”
Prime View Education Centre secured third place with a convincing 5-1 win over Source of Light Primary School. Sharon Kaudha scored a brace, while Benita Nasejje, Janet Babirye, and Stella Mutonyi also found the back of the net.
Bena Namutebi scored the lone goal for Source of Light Primary School.
