Uganda Revenue Authority football club earned their first victory of the current Azam Uganda Premier League premier league with a 3-1 away win against Jinja Municipal Council at the Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

After falling to Walter Bankene’s goal in the 7th minute, the tax collectors’ side regrouped for the better in the second half.

Goals from Ronald Kigongo, new boy Robert Mukongottya and Samuel Ssekitto’s stunning free-kick give Kefa Kisala and James Odoch some smiles after three opening draws to the season.

Police also won away from home 1-0 at Sadolin Paints – thanks to Anthony Bongole’s goal in the second half.

The goal came moments after the home side had missed a penalty through team captain Ronald Lukungu.

Elsewhere, Erisa Ssekisambu scored at Nakivubo stadium in Vipers’ 1-0 triumph against visiting BUL from Jinja.

Express won 2-1 over The Saints at Bombo Army Military stadium. Herman Nteza Wasswa and John Ssemazzi scored for Express as Ivan Kiweewa got The Saints’ consolation.

16 time record league winners, Sports Club Villa Jogoo were held to a goal-less draw against the fast improving Lweza at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The league takes a 10 day’s break as Uganda plays host to the CECAFA Women championship that kicks off this Sunday at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
