AZAM UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE: Express hit league summit, Vipers held

Match Day 4 Results (Tuesday, 8th September 2015):

Lweza F.C 1-2 Express F.C

Bright Stars F.C 1-1 Simba S.C

BUL F.C  0-0 Vipers S.C

Police F.C 1-1 The Saints F.C

Maroons F.C 0-1 Sadolin Paints F.C

URA F.C 3-1 Soana F.C

SC Victoria University 1-2 SC Villa

Fifteen goals were scored on Tuesday during the match day four fixtures of the Azam Uganda Premier league fixtures.

URA’s 3-1 victory over Soana at the Mehta Stadium in the heart of Lugazi town produced the most goals (4).

Frank Kalanda’s double was supplemented by Peter Lwasa’s winner before Rahimat ‘Mata‘ Kagimu pulled one back for Soana who had coming into this fixture won the previous game 4-0 over Lweza.

At Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, the fixture which was live on Azam T.V, Samson Ceaser Okhuti scored a brace in Express F.C’s condemnation of Lweza to their second consecutive loss of the season.

Mike Sserumaga’s 10th minute opener only acted to be a consolation.

Express football club thus accumulates 8 points in the opening four games of the season to top the 16 team log.

At Champions stadium inMwererwe, goal keeper, Mathias Kigonya scored a penalty as the home side, Bright Stars FC shared the spoils with visiting army side, Simba S.C.

Martin Mugabi, formerly with Jinja side, Sadolin Paints scored for Simba Sports Club.

The reigning champions, Vipers sports club lost their first season points as they drew goal-less away to Jinja’s BUL F.C at the Kakindu Stadium.

At Kavumba Recreation stadium in Wakiso district, home side Police F.C succumbed to Julius Malingumu’s late headed equalizer to draw with league debutants, The Saints F.C.

Police F.C had scored through Ben Ocen.

The Saints F.C thus earned their first point and goal of the 2015/16 campaign.

Maroons F.C lost their second fixture of the season, after falling to Jackson Kibirige’s late goal when Sadolin Paints won the game 1-0 at the Uganda Prisons, Luzira stadium.

At the Nelson Mandela national stadium, Namboole, 16 time league winners Sports Club Villa secured the first season victory of the current season after a hard fought 2-1 away victory to Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU).

SCVU’s only goal came from Farouk Kawooya but SC Villa won the day through Martin Kizza and Ambrose Kirya’s strikes.

The league returns on Tuesday, 15th September 2015.
