2015/2016 Azam Uganda Premier League season: Matches to be played on Weekends

The Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Premier League Bernard Bainamani has confirmed that fixtures for next season 2015/2016 will be played on weekends.

Bainamani made the revelations during the FUFA weekly press conference today at FUFA House.

‘Our matches will be played on Wednesday and Saturdays. In case of any unforeseen circumstances, some games will be rescheduled to be played week days’ said Bainamani.

The change from the traditional days of Tuesdays and Fridays in the last five seasons, has come as a result of clubs’ demands that the weekend days should as well have fixtures to cater for the working class and families.

The Azam Uganda Premier League season 2015/2016 will kick off on 22nd August, 2015 with the fixtures set to be released tomorrow as the clubs have now got their licenses to play in the top flight.
