Azam Uganda Premier League: Four Matches on Boxing Day including Express vs Vipers

2015/16 Azam Uganda Premier League: Boxing Day

All matches kickoff at 3.30pm.

Four matches are set to light up the Boxing Day in the Azam Uganda Premier League.

The Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) and Jinja Municipal Council Hippos match that was was stopped still goalless  on 8th December 2015 due to heavy rains will be completed when both teams play the remaining 45 minutes at Nelson Mandela National Stadium.

JMC Hippos approach the fixture with a rich vein of form having won their last home fixture, 4-0 in Jinja against Soana F.C.

Talisman and skipper Richard Wandyaka the tormentor of Soana F.C with all four goals will still be the main man alongside Ajab Abdulrahim, Patrick Onyango and Herbert Kakande. Wandyaka became the first played to score four goals this season in the top flight.

Sports Club Victoria University will bank on the form of Farouk Kawooya and team captain Hamza Delu’s leadership abilities for the much desired inspiration.

The match will be handled by FIFA referees; Anna Akoyi (Center Referee), Catherine Nagaddya (1st Assistant Referee), Marex Nkumbi (2nd Assistant Referee), Irene Namubiru (Reserve Referee).

Current table leaders, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) F.C travel to Luzira for a date against the tax collectors’ team, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club.

KCCA F.C of late has been injury hit (still without Tom Masiko, Jackson Nunda, Derrick Nsibambi and Tanzanian forward Shaban Kondo) but the good news though; some of the injured players are coming back.

Ivan Ntege and Hakim Ssenkumba are available.

The worry for Joseph Ochaya, who had picked an injury against SC Villa during the goal-less draw is no more after his great recovery.

URA F.C will see Richard Kassaga (suspension) and Robert Sentongo (rested) be available for selection that already has other established players like Frank Kalanda (striker), Brian Bwete (goal keeper) and Oscar Agaba (midfielder).

The match in Lugazi at Mehta stadium will be handled by William Ssenkumba (Center Referee), Mark Ssonko (1st Assistant Referee), Samuel Kayondo (2nd Assistant Referee), Mashood Ssali (Reserve Referee), Ronnie Kalema (Match Commissioner/ Match Assessor).

The other match will see Maroons take on Bright Stars at Luzira in their first ever meeting in competitive football organized by FUFA.

Maroons will bank on the safe gloves of goal keeper Jamal Maliyamungu, skipper Slyvester Okello, Maxwell Okello, Hood Muliki and striker, Patrick Kaddu.

The visitors on the other hand are expected to assemble a solid side with Uganda Cranes goalie, Mathias Kigonya taking up the number one slot, skipper Bernard Muwanga marshaling the backline, Jimmy Kibirige Lule in the midfield  and the quest for the goal lying upon the on form striker, Anthony Bongole.

Off colour Express F.C take on champions Vipers Sports Club at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Express F.C comes to the match in the wake of four consecutive losses in the league.
