Azam Uganda Premier League: FUFA Appeals Committee Pardons Lweza Football Club

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) appeals committee of Richard Kiboneka (Chairman) and James Bakama and Chris Othieno (members) on Thursday convened to deliberate on the appeal Lweza F.C lodged following their relegation for failure to comply with the FUFA Licensing regulations in the given time frame.

The committee used Lweza F.C’s submission to pass a ruling pardoning the club and henceforth issued with a club licence that means they are reinstated back to the Azam Uganda Premier league for the season 2015/16.

In a memo from the FUFA CEO, Edgar Watson to Lweza C.E.O;

The FUFA secretariat is in receipt of a verdict by the FUFA Appeals committee in regard to Lweza F.C’s appeal against relegation. Lweza should be issued with a provisional license for the season 2015/16, be considered in the 2015/16 Azam Uganda Premier league fixtures and pay a  fined of Ug Shs 1M within 3 days from the date of admission.

The committee wishes to warn all the clubs that despite the circumstances of this particular case, this is the last chance this committee will tolerate disrespect of deadlines set by the regulator in all football aspects.

This committee is alive to the fact that all the successful leagues in the world respect time and this committee will be condemning the Ugandan league if it tolerates disrespect of deadlines, time management is part and parcel of football development in the world and all the clubs should take note of this point.
