AZAM UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE STATUS: FSLL & Clubs Advised NOT To Convene

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) through the office of the Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson in a circular, No. 1030 dated 6th August 2015 (FUFA/C/008/15) has passed a communiqué concerning the matters of the Elite League.

FUFA invites the FUFA Super league limited (FSLL) and the clubs to strictly comply with their own statures.

The communications read in part;

It is an obligation for FSLL and the clubs to comply with FUFA Rules that are defined as Statutes, Regulations, Decisions and Directives of FUFA.

In consequence therefore, the planned general meeting invited for 8th August 2015 as earlier communicated to FUFA is inconsistent with the statures of FUFA, FSLL and the clubs and therefore decision made thereafter, will not only bring football to disrepute but shall also be null and void.

The steps below should be taken and thereafter the General meeting could take place in accordance with the FUFA and FSLL Stature;

1- All clubs licensed by FUFA for the 2015/16 league season that have not yet acquired share certificate should be issued with the same.

2- The Relegated Clubs should transfer the Share Certificates to the newly promoted clubs if the new clubs have acquired FUFA Club License for the 2015/16 Season for the League.

3- A meeting notice to the shareholders with the statutory agenda should be issued in accordance with the articles and Memorandum of Associations of FSLL and the FUFA staturs.

4- There is need to amend all the clerical mistakes in the FSLL Statures wording and this item should be included on the Agenda.

This will that Annual General Meeting is properly constituted and convened with all eligible members holding voting and veto.

From the fact that FUFA has placed on the 91st FUFA General Assembly Agenda, the item of whether the mandate to run the elite League should be handed to FSLL, it is paramout that compliance, proper organization and composition of FSLL is exhibited to assure the General Assembly of their ability to organize the league.

Therefore, to ensure that FSL Ltd and Clubs compliance with the Regulations, the position of FUFA that that Annual General Meeting hitherto scheduled for 8th August 2015 is scheduled in consideration of the guidance herein.
