2015/16 Azam Uganda Premier League: Friday, 13th May 2016
Vipers Vs Simba – Buikwe Stadium (4:00 p.m)
SC Villa Vs Soana – Nakivubo Stadium (4:30 p.m)
Second placed Vipers Sports Club is at their Buikwe home when they entertain army side, Simba in one of the two Azam Uganda Premier league games on the menu this Friday.
The other match will be held in the city center when Sports Club Villa takes on Soana at Nakivubo stadium.
The two games are of equal significance to the four clubs in contention.
Fast forward, Vipers has 50 points at the moment with leaders KCCA on 55.
Anything short of a victory will definitely grant advantage to the current leaders.
For Simba, they are an operation to win all their remaining games if there is a realistic chance of avoiding the axe.
For SC Villa, they are in a must win situation for all their games if they are to stand a chance of winning the title for the 17th time of counting.
Meanwhile, Soana have a point or two to prove that their first round 2-1 win over SC Villa at Kavumba was by no accident.
Crucial and missing players:
By the nature of the beautiful game, there are key players whose overall output to the game never passes unnoticed.
For team Vipers, the defending champions have goalie Isma Watenga, defender Nicolas Wadada, midfielder Mike Mutyaba and the now half fit Erisa Ssekisambu (after colliding with JMC Hippos goalie in a one against one incident).
Simba has the veteran but efficient Godfrey Wakaza, goalie Robert Kalumba and the much improved full backs, Aggrey Kirya (right) and Brian Ochwo (left) to look forward for.
David Owori and the dreadlocked Allan Kyambadde are potential missing actors for the home team meanwhile the visitors will still be without Dan Nsubuga (on loan from KCCA).
In the SC Villa versus Soana encounter, SC Villa right back Misi Katende will attract all the attention on this earth in that particular fixture because he will be facing his former pay masters.
Mike Sserumaga, Abel Eturude, Mike Ndera, Isaac Muleme and goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato have been consisent top performers for the Jogoos.
Soana looks to accord some playing time to the returning striker, Francis Olaki (after a long injury lay out).
Olaki aside, there have been a host of good performers in Musa Esenu and Simon Okwi (signed in the mid-season window from MUBS and BUL respectively), Dan Wagaluka and the veterans – Godfrey Wakabu (goalkeeper) and Hamis Kitagenda.
Fast dribbling winger Muwadda Mawejje will miss out for Soana and SC Villa will subject Tadeo Lwanga and Umar Kasumba to late fitness tests.
Enjoy the games.
