Azam Uganda Premier league: Vipers, Express win as KCCA is held

2016/17 Azam Uganda Premier league (Match day 23):

  • Vipers 3-0 Proline
  • Bright Stars 0-2 Express
  • Soana 1-1 KCCA

Vipers Sports Club returned to domestic action in the national league with a 3-0 victory against Proline at their new St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Midfielder Brian Nkuubi scored a double with the other goal coming off Mike Sserumaga’s wonder chip over goalie Keni Saidi.

Express won away from home, overcoming Bright Stars 2-0 at the Champions stadium, Mwererwe.

Joseph Ssemujju was on target before skipper Ibrahim Saddam Juma added the second before the end of the first half.

Reigning Champions, KCCA were held to a one all draw by Soana at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium.

Geofrey Sserunkuma’s opener was cancelled by former URA midfielder Farouk Osama Wejuli.

The league resumes on Friday with a couple of games at different venues.
