Makerere University Business School smiled to their second Inter-University Beach soccer title on Sunday at Lido Beach sand on Sunday.
MUBS overcame Nkumba University 3 – 2 in post match penalty action after a 5 all thriller played before a capacity crowd.
“The tourney transpired smoothly with more goals scored (143) this year than the previous editions”, Deo Mutabazi, chairman UBSA revealed to www.fufa.co.ug.
The closing ceremony was attended by FUFA’s finance director, Decolas Kizza, Anthony Tumwesigye (Beach Soccer Delegate), several sports tutors, among others.
Nkuubi Stars:
MUBS’ Brian Nkuubi finished top scorer with 15 goals and was also voted the Most Valuable player of the tournament.
FIFA Fair Play Award:
Bishop Stuart University were rewarded with the FIFA Fair play award for exhibiting great morals throughout the tourney.
9 Universities took part in the two day event organized by Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) in conjunction with Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
