Behind the scenes during the league play-offs at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru

There has been real thirst for football since March 17th 2020 when the Coronavirus pandemic struck and public gatherings were suspended to mitigate the spread of this contagious virus.

Nearly 8 months down the road, football returned albeit under closed doors at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, Buikwe District with the league play-offs (StarTimes FUFA Big league and the regional leagues).

A lot of football has been played with a big opportunity arising – relaying live the match proceedings to the general public via the FUFA TV broadcast on the official FUFA facebook page with timely updates on all social platforms (Twitter and Facebook) as well as a live radio commentary courtesy of 102.1 FUFA f.m.

Kitara Football Club overcame Kiboga Young 1-0 in the final of the StarTimes FUFA Big League with Brian Mululu Mayanja scoring the all important goal in the 55th minute, in a match televised live on Sanyuka Television.

After the StarTimes FUFA Big League, then came the regional play-offs involving 8 regions of FUFA (Kampala, Buganda, North East, Eastern, Northern, West Nile, Kitara and Western).

Each region brought 2 clubs apiece with 4 slots for the total 16 clubs as the successful candidates for the 2020-19 StarTimes FUFA Big League. brings you a catalogue of behind the scenes moments in the various departments; welfare, health, technical, refereeing, pitch maintenance, on-line, TV and radio production among others.

20th October 2020: Rest Day
