FUFA Big League clubs have hailed the Federation President Eng. Moses Magogo and his entire Executive committee for the recent signed sponsorship deal with Airtel Telecommunications Company which will last for four years.
The newly signed four-year contract will see a total of UGX 400m (About U$ 160,000) going towards funding different activities under both the FUFA Big League and the Uganda Cup till 2016.
In an appreciation messaged received at FUFA headquarters in Mengo, the FUFA Big League Management Committee chairperson Dominic Maloba Michael said the FUFA-Airtel relationship gives them a big hope for the better.
“On behalf of the entire Big League fraternity and on my own behalf, I wish to express our sincere gratitude to the FUFA President and his executive committee and the Airtel Telecommunications company for their noble efforts and decision to breathe new life into the Uganda Cranes, the Uganda cup and more importantly and particularly the FUFA Big League” writes Maloba who also doubles as a Fufa delegate.
“We feel delighted to see the FUFA president who has been in office for just a couple of months, delivering on one of his big campaign promises of re-branding the Uganda Cranes and attracting new sponsorships”. Maloba added.
The Chairman further wrote, “As the Big League clubs, we applaud this gesture and we are certainly pleased that the FA President listened to our request of finding some financial resources to support our league.
We promise to candidly work with the president in ensuring that we uplift the standards of our league to benefit the interests of the fans, and the sponsors in particular”.
The Big League organizing Committee chairman also heaped praises to the Airtel Company for the act of giving back to the community.
He finally called upon the clubs to ensure total order and observe discipline during matches.
