The six-month long coaching course under the CAF Coaching Convention resumed for more structured 40hrs from Tuesday 12th November 2024 to Saturday 16th November 2024.
Before turning up for the face-to-face sessions, the participants had a field visit in 2 groups one at KCCA FC and the other at NEC FC in Bugoloobi where they observed a training session on either side as well as interactions with technical and administrative staff of both clubs on technical leadership and management field topics as part of internship program.

The module done at Multitec Business Institute had participants undertake vital sessions in specialized areas like leadership and management, sports science, medical and nutrition as well as football fitness, performance tracking and reporting system.
Coaches were introduced to Catapult system for an insight into operations requirements. But most specifically data consumption in shaping their football training programs based on scientific data.
“We are very much aware of the changing trends in the game, especially the integration of science and technology. The FUFA President and his Executive Committee took a bold step to purchase Catapult equipment for the men’s and women’s top leagues. We are very pleased that this aspiration of the FUFA Technical Master Plan was prioritized. We trained users who were the primary agents of this technology at clubs. By integrating this learning into coaching courses of this magnitude, we ensure that head coaches are brought up to speed with the equipment and its scientific data to enhance their training programs for better football results,” said Ali Mwebe, FUFA Football Development Director.
“It was our opportunity to dive deep into the 12 volume and intensity metrics tracked and reported on by the catapult one system. It was such a valuable addition to our base knowledge of the system. We had opportunity to ask many questions and interact with the data, it’s so informative in shaping a proper weekly Micro-cycle periodization with visual volumes and intensity of training sessions done from a match till a match.” Said Coach Abbey Kikomeko of BUL FC.
The participants also undertook live match observation of Uganda vs South Africa AFCON Qualifiers as entire group for detailed match analysis as part of the block and practical application of the unit of match analysis.
The course shall proceed with the final module that is comprised of Block 6 and examination block 7 in December.
