CAF Club competitions: KCCA lands Angolan opponent, Vipers to face Comoros club

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football club will host their first leg of the preliminary round in the 2017 CAF Champions league.

The reigning Uganda premier league champions will host Angola Clube Desportivo 1º de Agosto  in Kampala before the return leg in Luanda two weeks later.

Current African champions, Mamelodi Sundowns await the successful winner on aggregate between the Angolan side and KCCA.

Last season, Vipers represented the country at the CAF Champions league.

Meanwhile, Vipers will take on Comoros opposition, Volcan De Moroni at the preliminary stage.

The winner of Vipers versus Volcan De Moroni over two legs (on aggregate) will face either South Africa’s Platinum Stars  or Mozambique’s Uniso Do Songo at the next stage in the competition.

Vipers won the Uganda Cup after overcoming Onduparaka 3-1 in a well attended final at Nakivubo Stadium.
