CAF Club Licensing Online Platform Training Workshop For UPL Clubs Held

The FUFA Competition Department had a meeting with Chief Executive Officers clubs in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Thursday 8th June 2023 at the FUFA Complex in Mengo.

The main aim of the workshop was to train users for the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) and accelerate the implementation and use of the CLOP by the clubs starting with 1st division league clubs.

While addressing the attendees of the event, Darius Mugoye the FUFA 2nd Vice President informed them that CAF has launched the Club Licensing Online Platform, a system that allows CAF and the federations to manage the process of club licensing and stadium inspections fully online and electronically.

“This is a great step forward in the club licensing system in Africa, which allows us to achieve more quickly the professionalization of our competitions and clubs at all levels,” he said.

Clubs that attended the meeting included Wakiso Giants FC, KCCA FC, Arua Hill SC, SC Villa, Mbarara City FC, UPDF FC, BUL FC, Soltilo Bright Stars FC, Gaddafi FC, Maroons FC, Busoga United FC, URA FC and Vipers SC. Police FC was also invited to attend.

The Uganda Premier League secretariat was represented by the CEO Bernard Bainamani Bampire and the League Manager Paul Kabaikaramu.

Last month CAF invited the Club Licensing Managers, Chairpersons of the First Instant Bodies (FIB) and the Chairpersons of the Appeals Bodies (AB) of all Member Associations for group regional workshops on the use of the platform as all processes going forward shall go fully online this month.
