CAF Confederation Cup: Taddeo Lwanga nets vital goal on Villa’s return to continental football

Sc Villa Jogoo who traveled with a thin squad of 15 players will play the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup in a fortnight’s time with alot of confidence following a 1-0 win over Sudanese side Khartoum Watan in the first leg Preliminary round.

Soft ware Engineer Taddeo Lwanga scored off a corner kick by new signing Mike Serumagga to hand the Jogoos a first half time lead at 1-0, a result that never changed even in the second half.

The Uganda Cup holders were playing their first continental game in over a decade and will have to thank the former Express FC player Lwanga who joined Villa park at the beginning of this season.

Sc Villa Jogoo starting XI:  Nihcolas Sebwato (GK), Misi Katende , Isaac Muleme, Jonathan Mugabi, Henry Katongole, Paul Mbowa, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Taddeo Lwanga, Umar Kasumba (Mike Ndeera), Mike Sserumaga (Ambrose Kiirya), and Robert Achema
