CAF PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2014: Uganda Cranes stars Massa, Sentamu shortlisted

Uganda Cranes stars Geoffrey Massa and Yunus Sentamu have been shortlisted by CAF for the African player of the year award. Sentamu who plays for AS Vita in DR Congo makes the list for helping his club reach the CAF Champions League final  while Massa’s goals at University of Pretoria in South Africa have earned him a place on the list.

Th duo is on the list of players who ply their trade on the African continent. CAF also released another list of African players based outside the continent and will announce the winner or that category.

Sentamu’s explosive form in the CHAN Finals in South Africa and Champions League this year played a key role in including his name on the list.

The winners of the two categories will be decided by votes from the Head Coaches/Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF.

The Awards Gala will take place on Thursday, 8 January 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Ivorian Yaya Toure was crowned African Player of the Year for the past three years whilst Mohamed Aboutreika of Egypt was named African Player of the Year (Based in Africa) last year.
