CAF U-17 CHAMPIONSHIP: Uganda’s Starting XI against Rwanda named

Kick off Time : 3 pm (Rwandan time, 4 pm Ugandan Time)

Match Officials:

Pacifique Ndabihawenimana (Center referee) – Burundi

Pascal Ndimunzigo (1st Assistant) – Burundi

Shabani Niyungeko (2nd Assistant) – Burundi

Eric Gasinzigwa (Reserve reserve) – Burundi

Alfred Rwiza Kishongole (4th Official) – Tanzania

Uganda U17 National team coach Matia Lule has named his starting XI for the return leg match of the Africa Youth championship in Gisenyi this afternoon. The match kicks off at 3 p.m (Rwanda time), 4 p.m in Uganda.

The team remains virtually unchanged.

Cubs head coach, Matia Lule and the technical team members meet the players in a talk session at Peace land hotel, Gisenyi.

Starting XI: Kibowa Erick (GK), Andrew Okiring (Capt), Komakech Alex, Asiku Bashir, Kato Samuel Nemeyimana, Olinga Emmanuel,Juilus Poloto, Tumwesigye Frank, Shaban Muhammed, Sebutinde Charles, Obuya  Pius.

At the same hotel (Peace land), the pre- match meeting is also taking place between the match referees, both captains and the match commissioners.

Uganda’s leader of delegation, Richard Ochom has also attended the meeting.

The match will take place at Umuganda Stadium and it is free of charge to all.

The winner over two legs will face Zambia or Botswana for a place  in  the U17 Africa Nations’ Cup championships to be held in Niger next year.

Uganda won the first leg 4-0 at Namboole but Rwanda needs to win  by 5-0 to knock out their neighbors.

The winner over the two legs will qualify to the last phase and is set to meet either Zambia or Botswana.

Zambia leads 1 – 0 from the first leg.
