The Uganda National U-23 side-Kobs played to a barren draw with former league champions Kampala City Council FC in a trial match played at Phillip Omondi Stadium Lugogo.

The Kobs are preparing for the Africa U-23 match against Egypt in Alexandria next weekend while KCC FC is tuning up for the prestigious CECAFA club championship in Dar es Salaam.

The U-23 coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, used different line ups for the two halves of the game.

Micho told www.fufa.ug that this trial match and that against Malawi have been very vital for his boys’ preparations.

Our opponents have given us a great challenge and test. We have to prove to Egypt that we are not their perennial punching bags as some of their media houses have already termed to us

Yunus Sentamu missed two clear scoring opportunities after a cross from the right by John Ssemazzi and the other an Erisa Sekisambu through ball.

The team will resume training tomorrow at 4pm, Philip Omondi stadium.

Meanwhile, the FUFA Communications department has confirmed James Mayanja as the Media officer for the U-23 team for the games against Egypt (both the 1st and 2nd leg). He will be assisted by Hamza ‘Afriqana’ Nsereko.
