Captain Onyango, Nsibambi and Kateregga join Uganda Cranes training on Tuesday

Three more Uganda Cranes players joined the national team training at Mandela National Stadium on Tuesday morning.

Team captain Denis Onyango (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Afria), midfielder Allan Kateregga (Ajax Cape Town City, South Africa) and striker Derrick Nsibambi (Smouha, Egypt) trained with the team for the first time.

Onyango joined the other two goalkeepers in camp; Charles Lukwago and Salim Jamal for the work outs with goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba.

The rest of the players were engaged in several work-outs.

The session was under the guidance of head coach Sebastien Desabre, his assistant Mathias Lule and the team physical trainer Gerome D’Antonio.

After the session, three players Murushid Jjuuko, Ibrahim Sadam Juma and Taddeo Lwanga engaged the media in a post-training interview.

‘The training is so far so good. We are set to face Tanzania and I know most Tanzanians on the team. I promise the Ugandans a win on Saturday’ remarked Jjuuko.

Sadam also hinted on the readiness of the team prior to the East African derby.

‘The morale of players is high in camp and everyone is ready for the game once given the opportunity’ Sadam noted.

Lwanga talked about the healthy competition within the team which is a big boost to the team and the technical team.

‘There is healthy competition for slots on the team. This is good for the team because the technical team wants the very best out of us’ Taddeo, who plies his trade at the reigning Uganda Premier League champions, Vipers SC disclosed to the media.

The team is camped at the nearby Jokas Hotel in Bweyogerere, a stone throw away from the stadium.

The team training resumes on Wednesday morning under closed doors (at Namboole).

Meanwhile Miya Faruku, Moses Opondo, Yunius Sentamu and Kizito Luwagga arrived last night but were given time off from the morning session by the Head coach.
