CECAFA 2014 NILE BASIN: SCVU books AFC Leopards in Nile Basin final

Semi Finals Results:

AFC Leopards 2 – 0 Academie Tchite

Victoria University 1 – 0 Al Shandy

Midfielder, Muzamiru Mutyaba scored a late strike to give his side a 1 – 0 win over Sudanese team, Al Shandy at the El Merriekh stadium on Monday night.

The goal books the Ugandan team, SCVU a final berth with Kenyan side, AFC Leopards, who beat Academie Tchite 2 – 0 in the earlier semi-final of the day played.

Mutyaba was only returning to the team set up after seeing red in the quarter final against Tanzanian outfit, Mbeya City.

Ugandan International, Musa Mudde broke the deadlock in the 58th minute to give the Ingwe the lead.

Bernard Mang’oli became the second causality for a red card after fighting Academie’s Alain Manishimiwe. The two will now miss the finals.

With fifteen minutes to the end of the clash, former Administration Police forward Michael Khamati doubled the lead as the Shield Cup defending champions comfortably sat on the driving seat in a game Harambee Stars man Allan Wanga was spotted in the stands.

The finals will be played on Wednesday at the Khartoum Stadium.

The champions will be carrying home a cheque of USD 30 000 , USD 20 000  and USD 10 000 for second and third finishers respectively.
