CECAFA U17 Team Coaches: Pre-match Press Conference Quotes
The centre stage is set for the CECAFA U17 Girls’ Challenge cup at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. This will be the home of many activities related to the youth tournament for the next 10 days.
On Sunday afternoon, five of the six team coaches entertained the media to a series of perfect answers during the pre-macth press conference.

‘We have experience in youth tournaments as we won the COSAFA U20 and are now deputy Champions in the CECAFA Senior Challenge cup last month in Dar es Salaam. We are very confident here in Uganda to perform well. Our aim is to progress in women football and we hope do better in this tournament’

‘It is our first participation in this great tournament. We don’t have any experience but we are determined. We shall try to develop our team during the tournament. I think it is a nice opportunity to our girls’

‘Djibouti is trying to develop women football. We are here to learn from other teams. We know Kenya is the best team, but we shall try to do the best. I insist, it is a good occasion for us to test our girls.

“I thank our federation for this opportunity they have given us to participate for the first time in youth tournament. We are ready to face any team. No team is weak here. All of us came here in Jinja to compete. It is a sign that we are ready. It will be better for Kenya to do the same performance like our sisters who won the CEACAFA Women Senior challenge cup in Dar es Salaam in November’

The team is very ready for tomorrow’s game. My players are very determined to win the game. It is the first of its kind but I promise Ugandans that we shall fight tooth and nail to represent the country well. We urge fans to turn up in big numbers to support out girls as we try to lift the title.
Burundi missed the pre-match press conference as they fly in tonight at 10.20pm.
