CECAFA U20: Musonye, Local Organising Committee happy with preparations in Gulu

The FUFA 2nd Vice President Darius Mugoye who is the chairman Local Organising Committee of the CECAFA U20 Challenge Cup to be hosted by Uganda from 21st September to 5th October 2019 led a strong delegation to Northern Uganda for another round of inspection of facilities in Gulu- one of the host towns for the regional tourney.

The FUFA Deputy CEO in charge of Football Decolas Kiiza and Nicholas Musonye the Secretary General of CECAFA together with FUFA Cub Licensing Manager Ivan Kintu Bayige made the trip early today.

Pece Stadium in Gulu was zeroed on by the organisers with the help of the local leaders led by Gulu district chairman Martin Ojara Mapenduzi as the host venue.

Musonye and his team inspected the stadium, hotels and training grounds that are going to be used by the teams in the group that will play its games in the northern Uganda district.

The officials first went to Gulu district offices where they met and held a brief meeting with the district chairman who later led them to Pece stadium for a guided tour of the facilities as Musonye carefully observed and made recommendations to be worked on before action gets underway next week.

‘We have inspected the stadium’s field of play, training grounds and hotels. I am certain we have all that we need for the tournament to be played here. We have also identified areas that need to be worked on and be improved upon which we have told management to handle. They have promised and committed themselves to do that within the deadlines. We are confident they will keep their word. Otherwise Pece stadium and Gulu will host matches’ Musonye emphasized.
