CECAFA Women Championship: Uganda Crested Cranes overcome Burundi to complete semi final line up

Group A Results on Match day 5 (Thursday, 15th September 2016):

First Match: Kenya 11-0 Zanzibar

Second Match: Uganda 1-0 Burundi

Uganda Crested Cranes overcame Burundi 1-0 on Thursday in the final match of group A at the on-going 2016 CECAFA women championship.

Fazila Ikwaput scored the match winner in the added minute of the first half extra time.

Naume Nagaddya, Hasifa Nassuna and Gladys Nakito were cautioned by the day’s referee, Rukyaa Jonesha from Tanzania.

The match was well attended by fans and the entire FUFA Executive Committee executive led by the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo, CECAFA officials, Ex-internationals, football delegates and other FUFA Staff.

Uganda finishes second behind Kenya who won all their group games to finish top with the maximum nine points (Kenya humiliated Zanzibar 11-0 in the tournament best score).

Action continues on Friday with the match day six menu that has only one game – Tanzania against Ethiopia.

The winner of the Tanzania and Ethiopia match will face Uganda in the semi-finals on Sunday.
