CHAN 2018 preparation: Uganda Cranes triumph over KCCA in training test match

Training match result: KCCA 1-5 Uganda Cranes

Uganda Cranes warmed up for the South Sudan tie with an outstanding 5-1 victory over KCCA at the Philip Omondi stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.

Muzamiru Mutyaba scored a brace in this match.

Nelson Senkatuka, Derrick Nsibambi and Shafiq Kagimu were also on target for the national team.

Mansoor Safi got the consolation for Mike Mutebi’s charges.

Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic fielded two different sides for either halves.

He was impressed by the physical fitness, mental strength, technical and tactical awareness but bemoaned for the goal conceded.

“We were better on the offensive but not happy for the good conceded. We have two more training sessions to polish up whatever is not right” Micho told the media after the training match.

Meanwhile, South Sudan arrives on Thursday evening.

Uganda Cranes and KCCA players greet each other before kick off. The match was officiated by Brian Miiro, Dick Okello and Ronald Katenya. The trio will be joined by Ali Sabilla for the CHAN 2018 qualifier between Rwanda and Tanzania in Kigali this Weekend

The team training returns on Thursday evening starting at 3:30 p.m.

Before the session, there will be a press conference at Lugogo scheduled for 11 p.m meant for the international match organizing committee, match promoters Kibo Media and security operative.
