Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the dates and fixtures for the CHAN Mini Invitational tournament.
FUFA confirmed on Thursday that Uganda will host a tri-nations tournament. This is aimed at helping the Uganda Cranes to prepare well ahead of the 2020 Championship of African Nations.
The tournament will be held at Mandela National Stadium between 17th – 21st March 2020 with all games expected to kickoff at 4PM.
Besides Uganda, the other countries that will feature in the above tournament include Zambia and Mali.
Coach McKinstry summoned a provisional team of 34 players that will enter camp on Sunday, 1st March 2020.
He believes the tournament will give Uganda good test before the final tournament in Cameroon.
“I believe this tournament will help us to gauge our standards. We hope to gain a lot from the games against Mali and Zambia. Mali is one of the teams with a good squad, they have hugely invested in youth football. Zambia is another good team and the fact that they are under coach Milutin Sredojevic, they will definitely give us a good test.” He said.
Training will officially start on Monday, 2nd March 2020 at GEMS Cambridge International School in Butabika.
Uganda is in group C alongside Rwanda, Morocco and Togo.
