2015/2016 SEASON: Azam Uganda Premier League Clubs Receive Licenses

Following the successful completion of the minimum club registration and licensing procedure, the Azam Uganda Premier league clubs have  received the certification for the 2015/16 season.

Certificates of registration and licensing were handed over today to ten of the 15 clubs that have met the requirements for playing in the Azam Uganda Premier League 2015/2016 season.

This was during the weekly press conference at FUFA House on Wednesday, 12th August 2015.

The FUFA Licensing Committee headed by Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel conducted the verification exercise.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) President Eng. Moses Magogo graced the hand over of the certificates and licenses to the Chief Executive Officers of the ten clubs present.

The Chairperson of the FUFA Club licensing committee, Dr Ogwel informed the media that only five clubs have been given full licenses after fulfilling all the requirements.

These are; KCCA F.C, URA FC, Vipers F.C, BUL  FC and Express FC.

‘The other 10 have been granted provisional licenses  that will only be operational for half season. These are; JMC, Saints , Simba, SC Villa Jogoo, Soana, Bright Stars , Maroons, SCVU, Sadolin Paints and Police football club’ said Dr. Ogwel.

Lweza Football club has only achieved 9% of the requirements.  Lweza appealed last week after failing to beat the initial deadline of submission of requirements. Their matter is now in the hands of the Appeals Committee.

Meanwhile Uganda Premier League CEO, Bernard Bainamani Bampaire told the media that the top flight league will kick off season on Saturday 22nd August, 2015.

Bainamani told the media the new season fixtures will be released on Thursday, 13th August 2015.

The FUFA Super Cup between Vipers FC and SC Villa will be played on Saturday 15th August, 2015 at Nakivubo stadium. Kick off is 4pm. Charges have been set at 5,000/- and 10,000/-
