The five-day Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) sanctioned beginner’s coaching course came to an end on Friday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
FUFA Executive Committee member Sam Lwere was present as Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony to hand over the certificates to the 27 budding coaches.
While addressing coaches, Lwere said – “I have also taken up courses in coaching, refereeing and administration. Make sure photo copies of your papers are handed over to your district and regional football Associtions which will help in future when more opportunities arise’
‘I urge you to join coachess Associations in your areas so that you can keep up to date and makes work easier for FUFA to identify you’ added Lwere.
Meanwhile organizers Tangosport Uganda Managing Director Joseph Mutaka was happy with FUFA, sponsors and participants.
‘I stand here both as a participant and representative from Tangosport. Our main vision is to promote all sports but we give more priority to Football because it’s the number one sport in Uganda and world over’ said Mutaka.
‘We want the game to be run professionally and this course is just the beginning but needs to be transferred to the community. Learning never stops’ added Mutaka.
This is the fourth course Tangosport had handled under the watchful eye of FUFA.
The course enabled participants to enhance their knowledge in coaching and provided them theoretical and practical lessons needed to coach youths.
CAF instructor Jackson Nyima who doubles as FUFA Education Officer was pleased with the progress shown by the participants.
‘The coaches showed willingness to learn and develop themselves, so we need to give them time to develop and provide coaching education to many at this development stage’ said Nyima
One of the coaches Kato Faizal was a happy man at the end of the course.
‘I learnt something different from the course where it looks to prepare us coaches for the FUFA Level I Certificate Coaching Course’ said Kato
