Sand Cranes captain Meddy Kibirige believes taking part in the HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA Beach Soccer Championship will aid Uganda having good preparations for the forthcoming Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations.
Uganda will be a guest team at the 2022 COSAFA Championship that will take place between 25th September to 1st October in Durban, South Africa.

Kibirige states that they face good teams in South Africa and that will put them in the best shape for the continental showpiece that will take place between 21st -30th October in Mozambique.

“I believe this tournament is important in our preparations for Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations. We want to go and do well against some of the best teams in Africa and that will give us momentum going into the Championship in Mozambique,” he said.
The skipper also lauded FUFA for availing good preparations to the team and promises the team is ready to perform.

“As a captain, I extend my appreciation to FUFA for offering such good preparations and I want to promise that the players will put up a good fight both in COSAFA and at AFCON.” Kibirige added.
