The Uganda U20 side has started preparations for the Confederations of South African Football Associations (COSAFA) Under 20 football tournament with an orientation session that also saw players take to the pitch for drills at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
Twenty players were part of the Wednesday morning training session under the guidance of Head Coach Mathias Lule, his assistant James Odoch and goalkeeping coach Sam Kawalya.

Lule said that he is aware of the quality of teams in the tournament but he highly values the technical ability of his players some of whom he has known since childhood and from the various youth set ups in Uganda.

‘I am preparing the team for the best and looking forward to make the latter stages of the tournament. I am also happy for the reunion of players from the U17 team that I handled in 2014. TThe project shows signs of continuity’ said Lule.

Today’s session that took about three hours was mainly about the players getting to know each other, then took official group photos and later trained.
