Cranes off to Zambia, Game live on UBC TV

Andy Mwesigwa will command the Cranes against Chipolopolo in Zambia this Saturday

The Ugandan delegation of 18 players and seven officials left for Zambia this Friday morning for the Afcon 2013 qualifiers match against the hosts in Ndora city on Saturday.

FUFA Zone 4 chairman Mike Letti led the delegation that travelled by a chartered flight. Sports Minister Hon. Charles Bakabulindi later followed the team and called upon Ugandans to pray for the country’s success. “Those able to travel have done good but behind us we also need the prayers from our fans at home” said Bakabulindi shortly before boarding the KQ aircraft to Lusaka.

The minister recently paid a courtesy visit to the team and paid UGX 12m and UGX 29m as players’ allowances and a part contribution towards their air tickets respectively.

The team that travelled had Denis Onyango (Mamelodi Sundowns- Soiuth Africa), Dhaira Abel (IBV Vestmannaeyjar-Iceland), Massa Simeon (URA), Walusimbi Godfrey (Vipers), Mwesigwa Andy (Ordabasy-Kazakhstan), Kalungi Henry (Richmond Kickers-USA), Isinde Isaac (St. George –Ethiopia), Wasswa Hassan (Kayseri Erciyesspor-Turkey), Sserumaga Mikle (St. George-Ethipopia) and Ssentongo Robert (URA).

Others are Okwi Emmanuel (Simba SC-Tanzania), Iguma Denis (SC Victoria University), Kiiza Hamis (Young Africa-Tanzania), Ochan Patrick (TP-Mazembe-DRC), Wagaluka Dan (APR-Rwanda), Oloya Moses (Saigon Thanh-Vietnam), Mawejje Tonny (IBV Vestmannaeyjar-Iceland) and Kizito Geoffrey (Saigon Thanh-Vietnam).

The Saturday game will be live on UBC Television and all sister FM Radio stations.
