The Uganda Women’s National Team (Crested Cranes) have secured a bronze medal at the just-concluded 2025 CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship in Tanzania, after Burundi lost 3–1 to South Sudan this afternoon.
The Crested Cranes were the first team to complete their matches in the tournament and could only hope for a Burundi defeat, with both teams level on three points. Uganda had a goal difference of -2, while Burundi entered the final game with a goal difference of -8.
The team is scheduled to depart from Tanzania tomorrow at 10 p.m.
