Last weekend, the atmosphere was electric as students, alumni, teachers, administrators, and football enthusiasts gathered to support their teams, turning the matches into memorable events. FUFA TV brought three of these exciting matches live to fans across the country, continuing to play a crucial role in promoting local talent and providing a platform for young athletes to shine.





In a weekend filled with high drama, only one of the 8 pioneers of the FUFA TV Cup emerged victorious; Busoga College Mwiri triumphed over Iganga High School with a 1-0 win. However, the rest of the pioneers faced unexpected defeats, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the competition and the rising talent in Ugandan football. Mengo Senior School, Jinja College, and Kiira College Butiki were all taken down by newcomers Ndejje Senior Secondary School, Bukooli College, and Bukoyo Senior Secondary School, respectively.
Meanwhile, Namilyango College, King’s College Budo, and Makerere College School fought hard to share the spoils with Mehta SS, Gombe SSS, and Lubiri SS, respectively, in hard-fought matches that left fans eagerly anticipating the return leg.










A total of 63 goals were scored in the first leg, with several players standing out with hat-tricks and braces. Jinja SS forward Hakim Folly emerged as the current top scorer of the tournament, netting four goals in a remarkable 6-0 victory against St Don Bosco Kamuli. His performance showcased his skill and determination, making him a player to watch in the upcoming matches.
As we head into the second leg of the Round of 64, scheduled for the 5th, 6th, and 7th of July 2024, the stakes are higher than ever. Teams will battle it out to secure a spot in the Round of 32, with the winner on aggregate proceeding to the next stage. With so much at stake, fans can expect even more thrilling action and unforgettable moments.
